Went to Vernon and got my scanner today. Hooray. now if I can find a USB cable I can start scanning.

Listened to a neat program on CBC today. They were discussing how the boreal forest and rain forests are massive storage areas for carbon. They use it and lock it into the soil. So when deforestation occurs that carbon is released into the atmosphere and how even reforested areas will take at least 100 years to get close to the same ability to lock carbon in. While fossil fuels are the biggest problem (in some minds anyway as the word has undergone warming and cooling cycles already) deforestation is a huge threat to us.
